One morning we planned to have a breakfast meeting. But it led to lunch because of the long hellllos after years of not seeing  our friends. I brought them to a place I love which I was sure they would love too. Let me show you some details.

Look at the floor’s character.

One more time with floors indoor.

Look up, a potpourri of  texture and color!

The blue and white collections is found inside the air-conditioned area

 Charming, isn’t it?

I have been here twice before. On my first visit I loved the frogs scattered all around the area. The second time around, the lavatory in the air-conditioned dining area caught my eye. This table top is my current favorite. Oh, and that leaf…it was already there when we occupied the table. This shot was not styled by me. Nature did.

I am certain that you can sense how happy and contented I was that day. I sure was. I just came from my morning walk, followed by a very successful meeting with business partners, then lunch here at Rustic Mornings at Isabelo to continue catching up with friends while feeling grateful for the opportunity and our physical ability to do this.

The four of us ordered different varieties. And although it was lunch already, the breakfast selection seemed so good at that time. And it was!

I ordered tocino because we do not eat it at home. I have stopped buying and serving my family because of the salitre issue. So inasmuch as we were getting together with friends who we have not seen for a long time, it made sense that I also ate food which I have not had for a much longer time! It was tender, I really hope it did not have the dreaded salitre.

The bangus was served hot and crispy…ohhh well no…let me correct myself. The bangus was served very hot and very crispy, which added a lot of pogi points for our National Fish!

The corned beef,we believe, was restaurant made. We watched out for this knowing that Purefoods factory is nearby, and we did not get disappointed. Imagine if we were served the Purefoods that we know and love. We would have questioned its price, its very existence in its menu. So we were happy.

Presenting, my honey’s order. It came with frankfurter, chili con carne, organic sunny side up egg, and bread….and rice, rationalizing that its breakfast, the biggest meal for the day, that he has just been from an hour of jogging, and that he will pass up the rice at dinner anyway. Zzzzzzzzzzzz. For a moment I dozed off while he was enumerating those. I already knew what he was going to say. And I also already knew that he wanted to enjoy the restaurant experience, so ok.

How can one leave the place without a group picture. This is a Table for Four post, I know, but our companions felt they were not picture-ready. Fine. But Emer was, and will always be ready for the camera.

I hope I have inspired you to try restaurants you have not tried before. I hope you go beyond choosing multi-national fastfood brands every once in a while. I hope, too, that you will exchange five-star dining dates to restaurants in your localit, once in a while. There are so many good ones out there. Explore your city, then tell us about it.

In Gratitude,

Bangs Zaldivar
